Volunteer Opportunities
Providing Interpretation Services: The Westwood PTA has offered their Ambassador Program to provide language support. If you need an interpreter to help with insurance agents, documents etc., please alert us. Likewise, if you can help as an interpreter please let us know. The contact is Christine Cloutier, who can be reached at ccloutier@powayusd.com. As a backup you can leave her a note at the Westwood Elementary office.
Volunteer San Diego is looking for volunteers to help with fire recovery projects. Visit http://www.volunteersandiego.org for more information and to register.
Interfaith Community Services offers a variety of volunteer opportunities including the following:
- organizing work parties to help seniors with fire prevention measures
- matching up individuals and groups with fire clean up needs in the community
- matching needs for fire cleanup in the community with volunteers

Volunteer Support
Faith Center support
Because Interfaith was founded by faith centers, we are dedicated to helping out the faith community during this time of relief. We realize that faith centers are in need of dire support as they work so hard to support the community around them, and we are here to give that support. With a team of professional therapists Interfaith is able to meet with clergy, faith center staff, and all laity to sort out spiritual and emotional needs. We are also offering workshop sessions to help educate the community on ways to help others deal with the emotional woes of recovery.
Interfaith is also here to help assist victims of the firestorm through our Social Services Department. With this, we encourage faith centers and individuals to make referrals to our offices using our Referral for Service form, which can be obtained by calling Antoinette Johnson, Faith Liaison at 760-489-6380 x266, or email ajohnson@interfaithservices.org.
